ProcLens
A native, sysadmin-grade Task Manager for macOS with process details, listening ports, and launchd control in one window.

ProcLens brings the layout of Windows Task Manager, the depth of Process Explorer, and a launchd manager together in one small Mac app. It reads data through native macOS APIs instead of shelling out to ps, top, or lsof, and stays light: about 1% CPU with the window open while sampling 1,000+ processes every second.
What it does
- Groups processes into Apps, Background, and System with CPU, memory, energy, and disk heat-maps; ends tasks, force quits, suspends, or stops a whole process tree.
- Shows CPU per core with Performance and Efficiency cores, memory pressure, GPU, disk, and network on 60-second graphs.
- Inspects any process: process tree, code signature, open files and sockets, loaded libraries, environment, and entitlements.
- Lists listening TCP/UDP ports, detects dev servers such as Vite, Next.js, and Postgres, and stops them with their workers.
- Manages login items, LaunchAgents, and LaunchDaemons grouped by signing developer, with an hour of history and alert rules.
- Includes a
proclenscommand-line tool that prints tables, JSON, or CSV from the same engine.
Getting started
Download the signed and notarized DMG from GitHub Releases, open it, and move ProcLens to Applications. Updates arrive through Sparkle with EdDSA signatures. ProcLens has no telemetry or accounts; install the optional helper from Settings only when you need root-owned processes or system-domain launchd jobs.
